On-Photography: Shooting Long Range 4K Video In Cold Weather with the YI M1!

As in this episode we will be out on Lake during a cold winters day (around 19/f) with the YI M1 and we will be shooting some 4k video of the Hollyhock which is about 1/4 mile offshore tending buoys with the kit lens. While I shot around 25 minutes of video, we compressed this down to around a little less then 5min and the only post adjust which I did was a single white balance. Also see my extended notes below:

Things to note:
————————————————————————————————
[1] The shifting color temperatures is due to the changing of the cloud cover and if you watch the water you can see the clouds pass over. I should have shot this with with a fixed white balance.

[2] Also notice the “dark” hull of the ship again I believe this was due to the white balance however I would have normally pulled this up a bit in posted but wanted to show more of the “RAW” output of the YI M1.

[3] Cold weather performance of the YI M1 has been fantastic, as I operated out here for nearly an hour all was as well as the held its charge well during this whole shoot so the cold weather posed no notice issue to the camera or lens assembly of the YI M1

[4] The kit lens was acceptable for the kit/zoom lens as its crispness was not stellar (nor did I expect it to be) however it was very acceptable especially for shooting B-Roll video on the go which this is what this video will become.
